An accidental fire broke out in the sugarcane field of Mrs. Sulochana Dattatreya Salunkhe near Mahavir Nagar in Bedakihal village of Nippani taluk on Thursday, 1.1.2026, at around 3 pm.
As soon as the information came to light from the locals, Balsaheb Shinde, the unit representative of Shaurya Sri Dharmasthala Disaster Management Unit, called the Sadalga Fire Station and informed the station master.
A team of six fire brigade personnel led by Shankar Kore, who responded immediately, rushed to the spot where the fire incident took place.
Volunteers of Shaurya team reached the spot and cooperated with the fire brigade personnel to extinguish the fire. The firefighting operation lasted for about three hours, saving about 15 acres of sugarcane crops and houses.
The fire brigade personnel praised the bravery of the team for making timely phone calls and helping to put out the fire.
