On September 20, 2025, volunteers from the Surathkal Shaurya Shree Dharmasthala Disaster Management Unit in Mangalore taluk conducted a cleaning drive at Surathkal Gudde Kopla beach
The coastal cleanup campaign was held as part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, based on the concept of ‘Clean Sea, Safe Sea’.
During the campaign:
- Cleaning activity: Volunteers cleaned the beach by picking up trash, plastic, and pieces of torn fishing nets scattered along the coast, thereby restoring the environment.
- Awareness: Awareness was created among the people living near the beach regarding environmental protection.
- Participants: Members of the Surathkal Shaurya Disaster Management Unit including Geetha, Bhagayavathi, Rohit, Prasad, Pawan Kumar, Jayaram, Bharathi, Padmanabha, Sulata, and Sujatha participated in the program
