Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, BC Trust (R) Dharmasthala, Shaurya Sri Dharmasthala Disaster Management Committee and Pragatibandhu Self-Help Association, in partnership with this, a fruit and berry planting program was held at the Government Senior High School and Pre-University College premises in Basavani, Thirthahalli Taluk.
450 different species of fruit trees like mango, punarpuli, pannerale, nelly, muruga, vate, etc. were planted in about 8 acres of land belonging to the school college. All the volunteers of Shaurya unit of Thirthahalli taluk planted the trees by donating their hard work.
This program was inaugurated by Shri Vivek V. Poys, Regional Director of Janajagruti. Shri Sanjay, B.S., Zonal Forest Officer of Thirthahalli taluk Forest Department, performed the “Vriksha Bandhan”.
